Today, we will look at how tiny we are in the Universe. After understanding and eyes opening information here, we will change our perspective how we look at problems we had around us, all just become so tiny and not even worth our energy to concern about them.
The Earth has circumference of 40,075 km, with 197 million m² surface area and one normal person occupy only 0.0000000036 m² if standing still. It will take us around 21 days to drive around The Earth at a speed of 50 mph (if there is a straight line route).
The Moon looks very near to us but actually the Moon is 384,400 km from Earth, which we can simply fit 30 Earth in between. We will need 150 days to travel from Earth to Moon by driving at a speed of 70 mph.
Curiosity Rover is now on Mars which is 401 million km away from Earth, with a 225 million km on average. Astronaut that landed on the Mars will be 986 times further than Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon.
Is that mind blowing enough? 7 billion people are living in that tiny dots taken by Curiosity ROver on Mars. Can you imagine how tiny we are in the universe, and how many individuals still complaining how big their problem is around them. But this is not the end…
Then we expand to our Local Interstellar Cloud where roughly 30 light years (1 light year = 9.46 trillion km) across through which the solar system currently moving. Here we got neighbor of another stars and even the closest also few trillion km away from us.
Expand a little more we have an entire milky way galaxy where our LIC located. As we can see our sun is pointed in the picture. The entire galaxy span can go up to 100,000 light years across.
There are over 100 billion stars and 100 billion planet inside our galaxy. Cool?
Zooming even further, we have Local Group Galaxy where there is around 54 galaxy and is about 10 million light years across!
Zooming even more further, we have Virgo Supercluster which is about 110 million light years across. Each one white dot is one galaxy and there are at least 100 Local Group Galaxy!
Zooming out from Virgo Supercluster even further, we have Laniakea Supercluster where Virgo Supercluster lies within. It holds around 100,000 galaxies and the distance from one side to the other is 520 million light years across.
Even the unimaginably extremely massive Laniakea Supercluster, it still lies within and considerably even more tiny in observable universe. The picture beside is our observable universe and Laniakea Supercluster merely a tiny dot in it. It contained everything that we know so far with at least 2 trillion different individual galaxy and contain more stars than the sand we have on planet Earth.
Earth is extremely tiny in the Universe and so even human being, do not let our ego and arrogance greater than universe, look at things in wider perspective, problem has just seems like become nothing when compare to universe, many possibility and opportunities always awaiting for us.
